The Bisbee Gem Award honors individuals who exemplify the spirit of giving back to the community by contributing their time, talents, and financial resources. The Bisbee Gem trophy was designed by local artist Judy Perry.
This year's 2025 award was presented to Jason Macoviak, the library manager of Copper Queen Library. Since Jason joined the Copper Queen Library, patrons have noticed his and his staff's dedication to the library. He has modernized the library for the 21st century while maintaining its community-oriented, hometown atmosphere. Jason and the library have earned numerous awards and recognitions, the latest being The National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The National Medal is the highest honor in the nation awarded to museums and libraries that exhibit outstanding community service. Well done, Jason!
