The Bisbee Foundation hosted their annual donor party on Saturday, May 2 at St. Stephen Nemanja Serbian Orthodox Church in Warren. The community came together to honor the donors who enable the foundation to grant scholarship funds to deserving Bisbee High School students and organizations within the Bisbee community.

Fourteen out of the twenty-six students participated in the event, where they were acknowledged and invited to share the colleges they would be attending and their chosen fields of study. This event provided a chance for students to meet the donors who had supported their dreams.
The Bisbee Foundation awarded 26 scholarships for a total amount of $72,000 including the $48,000 Fred Corrin Memorial Scholarship to Bisbee High School Student Darian Padilla.

Also honored at the party were Frank and Yolanda Barco, long-time members of the Bisbee community, with the Bisbee Gem Award. This award is given to individuals who have gone above and beyond to give back to the community through their time, talents and financial resources. Frank and Yolanda have been dedicated members of the Bisbee Community since August of 1964; working, raising their four children and contributing to the Bisbee community. The Bisbee Gem trophy was designed by local artist, Judy Perry.

The Treasure Award, was presented to Bisbee Foundation director, secretary, and beautification liaison, Sylvia Anable. Sylvia is the epitome of what it is meant to serve your community. Sylvia has been a member of the foundation for 25 years and has provided her insight, knowledge and love for understanding of how an organization grows and improves throughout the years, making it possible for so many people to empower their dreams. She is a true treasure! Thank you, Sylvia!
